What does Ellen White write about...
Adventistische Schriften über: "What must happen for a paradigm shift from the evolutionary paradigm to a biblical worldview in individuals and in science and intellectual culture?"
Answer
A paradigm shift therefore requires that human wisdom and scientific autonomy recede and that God is recognized as Creator and ongoing sustaining power.
For the individual, this means a transformation of the mind through renewal of attitude and a humble, prayerful attitude toward God's Word.
In science and intellectual culture, the Bible must be regarded as an infallible standard, before scientific theories and not the other way around.
Only in the light of revelation can nature and the history of origins be correctly interpreted.
The Question of the Origin of Man
»The theory that corresponds to the ascending development of germs, invertebrates and quadrupeds in the development of man, the crown of creation. When one considers the possibilities of human research... how frequent and great the errors in his conclusions are... and how the theories set up by different scientists contradict each other—if one considers all this, should we for the sake of the privilege of tracing our descent from germs and invertebrates and apes discard that statement of Holy Scripture which is so great in its simplicity, "God created man in his image"?«
True Science and Creation Reality
»In true science nothing can contradict the teachings of the Word of God, since both have the same author... In truth the work of creation can never be explained by science... Many lose sight of... the continuous and direct activity of God. They give the impression that nature works independently of God by attributing to it its own limits and its own forces within itself.«
Limitation of Human Wisdom
»In their human wisdom the world does not know God... when scientific men who confess the faith conclude from merely a human point of view about these matters, they will certainly err. The greatest minds, if they are not guided by the Word of God, get into confusion... The Creator and His works are beyond their understanding; and because these cannot be explained by natural laws, the biblical account is explained as unreliable.«
Change of Mind in the Individual
»And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God... There is a great gulf fixed between the worldly man and one who serves God. On the most decisive themes—God and truth and eternity—their thoughts and sympathies and feelings are not in accord.«
Humble and Prayerful Attitude in Study
»We will only advance in true spiritual insight insofar as we recognize our own littleness and our complete dependence on God; but all who come to the Bible with a teachable and prayerful mind to study its utterances as the Word of God will receive divine illumination... Our success in finding depends not so much on our intellectual ability as on the humility of our hearts and the faith that lays hold of divine help.«
The Bible as the Standard of Science
»The Bible should not be tested by human ideas against science, but science should be subjected to the infallible standard... Yet the study of the sciences should not be neglected. The books should be in harmony with the Bible, for that is the standard... If understood correctly, science and the written word agree, and each sheds light on the other.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
