Prayer is fellowship with God, the source of wisdom, the origin of power, peace and happiness. Jesus prayed to the Father “with loud cries and tears.” Paul exhorts the believers: “Pray without ceasing”; bring in everything your concerns before God through prayer and pleading with thanksgiving.
When Jesus was on earth, He taught His disciples to pray. He instructed them to bring their daily needs before God and cast all their cares upon Him. And the assurance He gave them that their petitions would be heard is also an assurance for us.
In every situation of life, under any condition, a soul pressed down by grief and worry or fiercely assailed by temptation can find certainty, support and help in the infallible love and power of a covenant‑faithful God.
I exhort you, awaken and seek God for yourselves. While Jesus passes by Nazareth, call earnestly to Him: “O Lord, You Son of David, have mercy on me,” and you will receive the light of the eye.
