Adventistische Schriften über: "Solomon's Repentance at the End of Life – Ellen White"

Answer

In his later years, Solomon returned to God with repentance and humbly confessed his errors, to warn others against the evil example he had set. Although he found forgiveness, the awareness of his past sins remained, and he sincerely endeavored to undo the negative influence of his waywardness. Nevertheless, his repentance could no longer fully prevent the bitter consequences of the disobedience he had sown in the nation.

Solomon's Conversion and the Confession of His Errors

In gratitude Solomon recognized the power and loving goodness of the One who is “higher than the Highest”; in repentance he began to turn his steps back toward the lofty realm of purity and holiness from which he had fallen so deeply. He could never hope to escape the destructive consequences of sin, nor could he ever free his mind completely from the memory of the extravagant life path he had pursued; but he earnestly endeavored to dissuade others from following the folly. He humbly confessed the error of his ways and raised his voice as a warning, so that others would not be irretrievably lost because of the evil influences he had set in motion.
Although he later repented, his repentance did not prevent the maturation of the evil he had sown. ... The simplicity and self‑control that are essential for the highest development, they sought to exchange for the pomp and extravagance of pagan peoples. To be “like all other nations” was their ambition.
The truly repentant does not banish his past sins from his memory. He does not become indifferent to the mistakes he has made once he has attained peace. He thinks of those who were led to evil by his life path and strives in every conceivable way to bring them back to the true path. ... He does not gloss over his wayward course nor treat his wrongdoing as a minor matter, but raises a warning signal so that others may be cautioned.
Among the many lessons taught by Solomon’s life, none is emphasized more than the power of influence for good or for evil. No matter how limited our sphere of impact may be, we nevertheless exert an influence for benefit or harm. Beyond our knowledge or control, it affects others as a blessing or a curse.
