What does Ellen White write about...
Adventistische Schriften über: "Does God stand on the dock, and why does He not prevent evil?"
Answer
God bears no responsibility for the origin or continuation of evil and will stand completely acquitted of any accusation in the judgment of the entire universe. He did not immediately crush the rebellion at its inception, so that the nature and destructive consequences of sin would be revealed to all created worlds and the righteousness of His actions would be irrevocably established for everyone. God possesses both the power and the will to eradicate evil forever, but He carries out this plan in harmony with His wisdom and justice.
God stands free of guilt before the universe
»In the judgment of the universe, God will stand free of any guilt for the existence or continuation of evil. It will be demonstrated that the divine decrees are not complicit in sin. There was no error in God's governance, no cause for dissatisfaction. When the thoughts of all hearts are revealed, the loyal and the rebels alike will unite and declare: "Your ways are just and true, you King of the holy.«
Why the conflict was not ended immediately
»So that sin could fully reveal its nature and its consequences to the intelligences of all worlds, this dispute was not suppressed in its early stages. When sin is finally eradicated, it will have provided sufficient evidence to convince every mind that it deserves this punishment; and all will gladly consent to its well-deserved fate.«
God's ability and will to eliminate evil
»Epicurus, the pagan philosopher, presented the same objection in the following theses: "Either God wants to eliminate evils and cannot, or He can and does not want to; or He wants neither and cannot; or He can and wants both." After it was shown that the last position is the only one compatible with God, he asked: "Then where do the evils come from? And why does He not eliminate them?" Our answer to all this is: "He can and will do both.«
No responsibility of God for the entry of sin
»Nothing is taught more clearly in Scripture than that God was in no way responsible for the occurrence of sin; that there was no arbitrary withdrawal of divine grace and no deficiency in divine rule that would have prompted a rebellion. Sin is an intruder for whose presence no cause can be given. It is mysterious, inexplicable; to excuse it would be to defend it.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
