Adventistische Schriften über: "Winds of Destruction"
Answer
In Adventist prophecy, the \"Winds of Destruction\" symbolize wars, political unrest, and moral chaos, which are currently being restrained by four mighty angels. This restraint serves to give people time for the sealing and preparation for the Second Coming of Christ.
Once the sealing of the God‑faithful is completed and God's protective hand withdraws, these winds will be released. This leads to an unprecedented time of tribulation, in which Satan can exercise his full destructive power, culminating in the final battle between good and evil.
The Four Winds and the Sealing
»Four mighty angels still hold the four winds of the earth firmly. It is forbidden for the dreadful destruction to occur in its full measure. Accidents on land and water, the ever‑increasing loss of life due to storms, weather, railway catastrophes and fires, the terrible floods, earthquakes and the winds will incite the nations to a deadly conflict, while the angels hold back the four winds and prevent the terrible power of Satan from being exercised in his wrath, until the servants of God are sealed upon their foreheads.«
The Meaning of Symbolic Winds
»Winds denote in symbolic language dispute, political unrest, and war. ... Here the prophet speaks of a confrontation that the Lord will have with all nations when the ungodly are given over to the sword... and the strife and unrest that cause all this destruction are called a great whirlwind. That winds mean dispute and war also follows from the vision itself; for as a result of the wrestling of the winds, kingdoms arise and fall.«
The End of the Grace Period
»The threatened condition that is being held back so that the sealing work can be completed is such that, when it occurs, no further work of the gospel can be accomplished; therefore, with the sealing of the 144,000, the grace period ends; the winds of destruction blow from every direction, and the great whirlwind of God's indignation ... will sweep the world into its final state of ruin and desolation.«
Destruction in the Cities
»When lawlessness increased and God's protective power was withdrawn, there were destructive winds and storms; buildings were destroyed by fire and toppled by earthquakes. ... The angels now hold back the winds of dispute so that they do not blow until the world is warned of its impending downfall. But a storm is gathering, ready to break upon the earth.«
