What does Ellen White write about...
Adventistische Schriften über: "Will the sea boil, the earth split open, and lava erupt at the Second Coming?"
Answer
Yes, according to the scriptures, great natural catastrophes will occur at Christ's Second Coming. When the heavenly fire joins the fire within the earth, the mountains will break apart, burn like an oven, and pour devastating lava flows over the land. Through the massive tremors, the earth's surface will split open, and the water or sea will be boiled by the scorching masses and natural forces.
Terrible Natural Events and Lava Flows at the Second Coming
»More dreadful manifestations than the world has ever seen will be observed at Christ's Second Coming. [...] When lightning from heaven unites with the fire in the earth, the mountains will burn like a smelting furnace and pour out terrible lava flows that flood gardens and fields, villages and cities. Boiling, molten masses hurled into the rivers will bring the water to a boil and hurl massive boulders with indescribable force upward, whose fragments will be scattered across the land. Rivers will dry up. The earth will be shaken; everywhere there will be terrible earthquakes and eruptions.«
The Boiling of the Sea at the Announcement of Jesus' Coming
»The mountains trembled like a reed in the wind and cast jagged rocks all around. The sea boiled like a cauldron and hurled stones onto the land. And when God proclaimed the day and hour of Jesus' coming and gave His people the eternal covenant, He spoke a sentence and then paused, while the words rolled across the earth.«
The Splitting of the Earth's Surface at God's Intervention
»The whole earth lifts and rolls like the waves of the sea. Its surface breaks open. Its foundations seem to give way. Mountain ranges sink. Inhabited islands disappear. The sea ports, which have become like Sodom because of their godlessness, will be swallowed by the raging waters.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
