What does Ellen White write about...
Adventistische Schriften über: "Will the earth break open when Christ comes?"
Answer
Yes, according to the Scriptures the earth will be violently shaken and break open in the events surrounding Christ’s second coming and God’s intervention. Through an unprecedented worldwide earthquake the earth’s surface will split open, mountains will collapse, graves will open, and vast chasms will form. The earth will be shaken down to its foundations and will remain as a desolate wasteland.
The Breaking of the Earth’s Surface in the Mighty Earthquake
»The whole earth rises and falls like the waves of the sea. Its surface breaks open. Its foundations seem to give way. Mountain ranges sink. Inhabited islands disappear. [...] Prison walls are torn apart, and God’s people, who were held in captivity because of their faith, are set free. Graves are opened, and "many who sleep in the dust of the earth" "awaken, some to eternal life, others to disgrace and eternal shame.«
Chasms and Debris on the Destroyed Earth
»The whole earth resembles a desolate wasteland. The debris of cities and villages destroyed by the earthquake, uprooted trees, torn rocks that have been cast out by the sea or ripped from the earth itself, lie scattered across its surface, while huge caves and chasms mark the places where mountains have been torn from their foundations.«
The Splitting of the Valleys and Shaking of the Foundations
»“For behold, the Lord goes forth from His place and comes down and steps upon the heights of the earth. And the mountains melt beneath Him, and the valleys split like wax before the fire, like water rushing down a cliff.” [...] “A great earthquake, unlike any that has ever occurred since man has been on earth,” shakes the earth down to its foundations.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
