There are various views regarding whether the Ark of the Covenant will be physically found at the end of time. While apocryphal writings and some interpreters suggest that it could reappear to confirm God's word, prophetic scriptures emphasize that it was hidden because of the people's sins and should not be returned to them. However, it is certain that God's law will appear visible to all people in the heavens before Christ's second coming.
The Concealment of the Ark of the Covenant
Because Israel violated God's commandments and committed evil deeds, God allowed them to be taken into captivity to humble and punish them. ... These righteous men concealed, shortly before the destruction of the temple, the holy Ark, which contained the stone tablets, in a cave, under mourning and sorrow, where it should remain hidden from the people of Israel because of their sins and should not be returned to them. This holy Ark is still hidden. It has never been disturbed since its concealment.
Possible Discovery Before the End
The writer of the Apocrypha explains that the Ark will be brought forth again in the last days. Whether that copy of the law given by God at Sinai is brought forth again or not, there will be a copy of the same law, as if traced with a fiery pen in the heavens, before the astonished eyes of the earth's inhabitants in connection with Christ's second coming to earth.
Hope for a Confirmation of the Word
It is far more pleasing and satisfying to assume that it was carefully preserved, as indicated in the Maccabees, even if it is necessary to take the final part of this quotation as a true prophetic statement that it will be discovered and brought forth in the last days as a confirmation of God's word, when the skeptic and the biblical critic do their utmost to destroy it.
