What does Ellen White write about...
Adventistische Schriften über: "Why was Paul sent again to Corinth, even though apparently only a few people there professed Christ afterwards?"
Answer
Paul was encouraged by a vision to stay in Corinth, as the Lord revealed to him that He had “much people in this city,” despite the wickedness and opposition there. Although Paul was initially discouraged and wanted to leave the city, he recognized in this message the command to continue the work and trust in divine growth. His efforts eventually bore abundant fruit, and a large congregation arose, composed of people from diverse backgrounds.
Divine Encouragement in Corinth
»Although Paul had a certain degree of success in Corinth, the wickedness he saw and heard in this corrupt city almost discouraged him. ... When he planned to leave the city for a more promising field and earnestly tried to understand his duty, the Lord appeared to him in a vision and said: “Do not be afraid, but speak and do not be silent; for I am with you, and no one shall attack you to harm you; for I have much people in this city.” Paul understood this as a command to stay in Corinth, and as a guarantee that the Lord would give growth to the seed that had been sown. Strengthened and encouraged, he continued his work there with zeal and perseverance.«
Success of the Missionary Work in Corinth
»Paul’s efforts in Corinth were not without fruit. Many turned away from the worship of idols to serve the living God, and a large congregation was recorded under the banner of Christ. Some were rescued from the most extravagant conditions of the pagans and became monuments of God’s grace and the efficacy of Christ’s blood to cleanse from sin.«
The Importance of Staying for the Young Believers
»Had the apostle had to leave Corinth at this time, the converts to faith in Jesus would have been placed in a dangerous situation. The Jews would have tried to exploit the gained advantage, even to the point of eradicating Christianity in this region.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
