Job's faith was extraordinary because even in deepest despair and apparent abandonment by God he remained unshakably steadfast in his integrity and trust in God. He demonstrated a rare form of steadfastness by being willing to trust God even if He would kill him. Through this patient endurance he defended not only his own character but also the character of God, whose representative he was.
