What does Ellen White write about...

Adventistische Schriften über: "Why should we support our leaders and listen to them?"

Answer

We should support and listen to our leaders because God has ordained them as channels of light, help, and encouragement to guide and strengthen His people. Disregarding or despising those placed in leadership positions means rejecting the means God has established and places believers in danger of deception and overconfidence in their own judgment. By respecting their counsel and honoring the authority God has invested in His church, believers are united in harmony and protected from spiritual disorder.

God's Appointed Means for Help and Protection

»To neglect or despise those whom God has appointed to bear the responsibilities of leadership in connection with the advancement of the truth, is to reject the means that He has ordained for the help, encouragement, and strength of His people. For any worker in the Lord's cause to pass these by, and to think that his light must come through no other channel than directly from God, is to place himself in a position where he is liable to be deceived by the enemy and overthrown.«

Respect and Deference Due to Church Authorities

»“We beseech you, brethren,” Paul continued in his letter to the Thessalonians, “to know them which labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; and to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.” ... The church had been properly organized, and officers had been appointed to act as ministers and deacons. But there were some, self-willed and impetuous, who refused to be subordinate to those who held positions of authority in the church. ... In view of this, Paul called the attention of the Thessalonians to the respect and deference due to those who had been chosen to occupy positions of authority in the church.«

Listening to God's Chosen Ministers

»We are to listen attentively to the words of the ministers of God, those chosen of Him and precious, whose opportunities for learning of Him have been larger than our own. We are to respect and appreciate those who have a knowledge of His words, and who understand its application better than we do.«

The Authority Invested in the Church

»The church is God's delegated authority upon earth. ... Unless the advice and counsel of the church can be respected, it is indeed powerless. God has placed a voice in the church which must control its members. If you are led by truth rather than error you will be willing to obey your parents and sacredly regard the voice of the church.«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
