What does Ellen White write about...

Adventistische Schriften über: "Why does one still fall into sin so easily despite faith?"

Answer

The persistence of sin despite faith often results from a lack of vigilance or the failure to continually place oneself under the influence of the Holy Spirit. A superficial faith that underestimates the seriousness of sin or neglects daily dependence on Christ makes a person vulnerable to temptations. Only through active submission and consistent spiritual effort can the believer be protected from falling back into old sin patterns.

The Necessity of Daily Faith

»Being justified, however, does not mean that a person is no longer in danger of falling into sin. No; \"The righteous shall live by faith.\" Faith and submission to God must be constantly exercised to preserve righteousness—to remain a doer of the law.«

Beware of Negligence and Overconfidence

»Let no one think that it is an easy matter to overcome the enemy, and that one can be lifted up to an imperishable inheritance without personal effort. ... A moment of inattention can cast a soul into irretrievable ruin. One sin leads to a second, and the second paves the way for the third, and so on. ... There is hope for each of us, but only on one path, namely by binding ourselves to Christ and exerting every energy to attain the perfection of His character.«

Self-knowledge as Protection from Defeats

»Whoever understands his own character well, who knows the sin that most easily oppresses him, and the temptations that could most likely overwhelm him, should not unnecessarily place himself in danger or invite temptations by venturing into the enemy's territory. Self-knowledge will protect many from falling into severe temptations and prevent some inglorious defeats.«

The Importance of Bible Study

»Many are tempted to commit sins because they fail to study the Holy Scriptures. They were inattentive, and Satan found in them an easy prey.«

The Holy Spirit as the Only Assurance

»Our only assurance against falling into sin is to constantly place ourselves under the shaping influence of the Holy Spirit while actively committing ourselves to the cause of truth and holiness...«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
