What does Ellen White write about...

Adventistische Schriften über: "Why does God not intervene and allow everything in the world?"

Answer

God does not intervene immediately with force or destruction, because He alone accepts a service that comes from free love and conviction, and the entire universe must fully recognize the devastating consequences of sin and rebellion. If God had instantly eradicated evil, the creatures would serve Him out of fear rather than love, and doubt about His righteousness would not have been removed. Moreover, God allows evil to reveal its true character and the believers to be refined through trials, while He patiently carries out His wise plan of salvation for the final overcoming of sin.

The necessity of revealing the nature of rebellion

»Even when it was decided that he could no longer remain in heaven, the infinite wisdom did not destroy Satan. Since only the service of love is acceptable to God, the loyalty of His creatures must rest on the conviction of His righteousness and goodness. The inhabitants of heaven and other worlds, who were unprepared to comprehend the nature or consequences of sin, would not have been able to recognize God's justice and mercy at the time of Satan's destruction. Had he been eliminated from existence immediately, they would have served God more out of fear than love. The influence of the deceiver would not have been completely destroyed, and the spirit of rebellion would not have been fully eradicated. Evil had to reach maturity. For the good of the entire universe throughout all eternal ages, Satan had to fully develop his principles so that his accusations against the divine government could be seen by all created beings in their true light...«

God's far‑reaching plan in dealing with evil

»God, the Infinite and All‑Wise, sees the end from the beginning, and in dealing with evil His plans were far‑reaching and comprehensive. It was His intention not merely to crush rebellion, but to demonstrate the nature of rebellion to the entire universe. God's plan unfolded, showing both His righteousness and His mercy, and fully vindicating His wisdom and justice in His actions toward evil.«

Why God allows the prospering of the ungodly and suffering

»God has given us sufficient evidence of His love, and we must not doubt His goodness because we cannot understand the workings of His providence. ... He does not forget or neglect His children; but He allows the ungodly to reveal their true character so that no one who wishes to do His will is deceived by them. Moreover, the righteous are placed in the crucible of tribulation so that they themselves may be purified; that their example may convince others of the reality of faith and piety... God permits the ungodly to prosper and to reveal their hostility toward Him, so that when they have fully reached the measure of their wrongdoing, all may see His righteousness and mercy in their complete destruction.«

The consequences of disregarding God's protection

»Satan is the destroyer. God cannot bless those who refuse to be faithful stewards. All He can do is allow Satan to carry out his work of destruction. We see calamities of every kind and magnitude coming over the earth, and why? The restraining power of the Lord is not exercised. The world has disregarded the word of God. They live as if there were no God.«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
