Moreover, Scripture emphasizes the need to be cleansed from sin and to wash the garments of character white in the blood of the Lamb so that a person may be saved.
Calling for repentance in every sermon
»In every sermon, urgent appeals should be directed to people to abandon their sins and turn to Christ. The prevalent sins and excesses of our day should be condemned and practical piety demanded. The preacher himself should be deeply earnest, feel the words he speaks from the heart, and be unable to suppress his concern for the souls of men and women for whom Christ died.«
Constant remorse as the path to victory
