»Satan presented to the holy pair that they would gain by breaking God's law. Do we not hear similar arguments today? Many speak of the narrowness of those who keep God's commandments, while they themselves claim to have broader ideas and enjoy greater freedom. What is this but an echo of the voice from Eden: “On the day you eat of it” – transgressing the divine requirement – “you will be like God”.«
