Adventistische Schriften über: "Why did Moses give up the riches of Egypt?"

Answer

Moses gave up the riches of Egypt because his faith led him to focus on eternal and invisible values rather than on fleeting luxury. He recognized that the splendor of the court was associated with sins that cause one to forget God, and he preferred to suffer with the people of God rather than enjoy short‑lived sinful pleasures. For him, the shame of Christ was a more valuable treasure than all the riches of Egypt, as he expected the heavenly reward and an imperishable crown.

The Choice Between Transient Splendor and Eternal Reward

Through faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called a son of Pharaoh's daughter; he would rather endure affliction with the people of God than enjoy the pleasures of sin for a time; he regarded the shame of Christ as greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, because he looked to the reward.
Moses' faith prompted him to look at things that are invisible and eternal. He left the glittering attractions of court life because sin was there. He gave up a present and apparent good that only flattered, to ruin and destroy. The real, eternal attractions were of value to him. The sacrifices Moses made were in fact not sacrifices. For him it meant letting go of a present, apparent, flattering good for a certain, high, immortal good.
Moses had been taught about the final reward that would be given to the humble and obedient servants of God, and worldly gain fell into its proper insignificance in comparison. ... He saw through faith an imperishable crown that the King of Heaven would place on the head of the overcomer. This faith caused him to turn away from the rulers of the earth and join the humble, poor, and despised nation that had decided to obey God rather than serve sin.
Instead of aligning himself with the greatness of Egypt, he chose to link his life with God's purpose. He became God's instrument to give the world those principles that protect both the home and society.
Yet, for the honor of God and the liberation of His oppressed people, Moses sacrificed the honors of Egypt. Then, in a special sense, God took over his training.
