Ellen Gould White über: "Why did God create animals on earth?"

Answer

God created the animals so that they would serve humanity, love them, and contribute to the general harmony of creation. They were created as part of a divine law of service, whereby each living being contributes to the life of another and reveals the Father's glory and love. Moreover, the animals were to fill the world with joy through their beauty and song and to promote human happiness.

The Role of Animals in Creation

He was placed as God's representative over the lower orders of creation. They cannot understand or acknowledge God's sovereignty, yet they were made capable of loving and serving man.
No bird that divides the air, no animal that moves upon the ground, fails to serve another life. There is no leaf of the forest or low blade of grass that does not have its service.
The animals were created to serve man, but he has no right to cause them pain through harsh treatment or cruel demands.
The lovely birds that fill the air with their cheerful songs... they all testify to the tender, paternal care of our God and His desire to make His children happy.
To all things on earth, in the air and in the heavens He wrote the message of the Father's love.
All things, both in heaven and on earth, proclaim that the great law of life is a law of service... The same law of service is written into all things of nature. The birds of the air, the animals of the field... all have their service.
