God created animals so that they could love and serve man, acting as his companions under his benevolent dominion. They are part of a universal system of service in which each creature contributes to the life of others, manifesting the glory and excellence of the Creator. Moreover, their presence and their songs were intended to make God's children happy and to testify to His tender paternal love.
