What does Ellen White write about...
Adventistische Schriften über: "Which texts do you speak against insurance? Making insurance..."
Answer
In her writings Ellen White warned against taking out life insurance and described it as a worldly practice that weakens trust in God's divine care and leads believers away from the purity of the gospel. She emphasized that Christians, as stewards of God, should not invest their financial resources in such systems, but rather use them to promote His work. Believers are called to place their full trust in the heavenly Father, who always provides for His people.
Warning against life insurance and worldly practices
»Life insurance is a worldly practice that leads our brothers and sisters who engage in it to deviate from the simplicity and purity of the gospel. Each such deviation weakens our faith and diminishes our spirituality. ... As a people we belong to the Lord in a very special sense. Christ has redeemed us. ... God has provided for His people. He bears a special care for them, and they should not distrust His providence by entering into a contract with the world. God wants us to preserve our distinctiveness as a people in simplicity and holiness. Those who engage in this worldly practice invest resources that belong to God and that He has entrusted to them, to be used for His work. ... Those whom God has made His stewards have no right to give the resources He has entrusted to them for His work into the ranks of the enemy.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
