What does Ellen White write about...
Adventistische Schriften über: "Where was the Ark of the Covenant last located?"
Answer
Before the destruction of the temple by the Babylonians, the Ark of the Covenant was removed from the Most Holy Place by faithful servants of God to protect it from desecration. It was hidden in a cave in the mountains so that it would not fall into the hands of the enemies. According to these reports, the holy ark remained at this secret location and has not been touched since.
The Hiding of the Ark in a Cave
»These righteous men removed the holy ark, which contained the stone tablets, shortly before the destruction of the temple, and concealed it in a cave amid mourning and sorrow, where it should remain hidden from the people of Israel because of their sins and should not be returned to them. This holy ark is still hidden. It has never been touched since it was concealed.«
Hideout in the Mountains before the Babylonian Captivity
»When Solomon's temple was built, the ark was placed in the Most Holy Place, where it remained until, before the Babylonian captivity, the prophet Jeremiah took it and hid it in a cave in the mountains so that it would not fall into the hands of the Gentiles.«
Traditions about the Ark's whereabouts
»Some assume that it was hidden and kept by Jeremiah. To support this view, reference is made to the Book of the Maccabees, which contains the following report: Jeremiah, the prophet, commanded, “after he had been warned by God that the tabernacle and the ark should go with him, when he ascended the mountain on which Moses had ascended and had seen the inheritance of God. And when Jeremiah came there, he found a hollow cave, in which he placed the tabernacle, the ark, and the incense altar and sealed the entrance.”«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
