What does EGW write about...
Adventistische Schriften über: "Where in E. White's writings does it state that God will burn the sin wherever He finds it?"
Answer
In the writings of Ellen G. White it is emphasized that God is a “consuming fire” toward sin wherever it is found. When people refuse to separate themselves from sin and instead cling to it, they become one with it and therefore must be destroyed with it. The glory of God, which gives life to the righteous, works on sin and those who preserve it like a destructive fire.
God as a Consuming Fire Against Sin
Against sin, wherever it is found, “our God is a consuming fire.” In all who submit to His power, the Spirit of God will consume sin. However, if people cling to sin, they become one with it. Then the glory of God, which destroys sin, must also destroy it.
Every sinner who clings to sin will be destroyed with the sin. God has made provisions for everyone to separate from sin so that He can destroy the sin and save the sinner.
At Christ’s second coming the ungodly will be consumed “by the spirit of His mouth” and “by the brilliance of His appearance.” The light of God’s glory, which gives life to the righteous, will kill the ungodly.
The fire that consumes the ungodly purifies the earth. Every trace of the curse is swept away. No eternally burning hell will show the saved the terrible consequences of sin.
- God consuming fire sin
