Adventistische Schriften über: "What results arose from Paul's preaching activity in Acts 18:4–8?"
Answer
Paul's preaching activity in Corinth led to the conversion of many people, including Crispus, the head of the synagogue, and his entire household. While many Corinthians embraced the faith and were baptized, the unbelieving Jews responded with increased hatred, slander, and attempts at deception. Because of this resistance, Paul turned away from the Jews and thereafter focused his work on the Gentiles.
Conversions and the Resistance of the Jews
»Angels worked with them, and the grace and power of God were manifested in the conversion of many. “But Crispus, the head of the synagogue, became a believer in the Lord with his whole household; and many Corinthians who were listening became believers and were baptized.” The hatred with which the Jews had always regarded the apostles now intensified further. The conversion and baptism of Crispus had the effect of provoking these stubborn opponents rather than convincing them. They could not present any arguments to refute Paul’s preaching, and lacking such evidence they resorted to deception and malicious attacks. They slandered the gospel and the name of Jesus.«
Paul Turns to the Gentiles
»But the Jews of Corinth closed their eyes to the evidence that the apostle presented so clearly, and refused to listen to his appeals. The same spirit that had led them to reject Christ filled them with anger and wrath against His servant... “When they opposed and slandered, he shook off his garments and said to them: ‘Your blood be upon your own heads! I am clean; from now on I will go to the Gentiles.’ And he left from there and went into the house of a man named Justus, a god-fearing man, whose house was directly adjacent to the synagogue.”«
Results among Jews and Greeks
»“And he spoke in the synagogue every Sabbath and persuaded Jews and Greeks.” At this place Paul also found Gentiles as well as Jews who attended the Sabbath worship. The first members of the congregation in Corinth were therefore observers of the Sabbath at the time they received the gospel.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
