What does Ellen White write about...

Adventistische Schriften über: "What quotations from Ellen White are there about discipleship and caring for new converts?"

Answer

Ellen White emphasizes that discipleship does not end with conversion: New converts should be instructed, spiritually guided, and equipped for service. The following excerpts address both this care and strengthening believers in the faith.

Carefully instructing new converts

»Our efforts are not to cease because public meetings have been discontinued for a time. So long as there are interested ones, we must give them an opportunity to learn the truth. The new converts must be instructed by faithful teachers of the word of God, that they may increase in knowledge and love of the truth, and grow up to the full stature of men and women in Christ Jesus. They must be surrounded by the influences most favorable to spiritual growth.«

Caring for new believers

»When men and women receive the truth, we must not go away and leave them, and cease to have any further interest in them. They must be looked after. They must be borne on the soul as a burden, and we must watch for them as those who must give an account. […] It would require great care, much patience, and perseverance to give those who are still ignorant proper instruction, to open the Scriptures to them, and train them for usefulness and duty.«

Equipping new believers for service

»As soon as a church is organized, the minister should set the members to work. They will need to be taught how to labor successfully. The minister should devote more of his time to educating than to preaching. He should teach the people how to impart to others the knowledge they have received. The new converts should be taught to seek counsel from those who are more experienced in the work, while at the same time they should be taught not to put the minister in the place of God.«

Strengthening the faith of new converts

»Neither Paul nor Barnabas was satisfied with taking up work elsewhere without confirming the faith of the converts. […] They therefore returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch, strengthening the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith. […] As an important factor in the spiritual growth of the new converts, the apostles were careful to surround them with the safeguards of gospel order.«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
