What does Ellen White write about...

Adventistische Schriften über: "What is the significance of a person's entrails and why were they burned on the burnt offering altar as a pleasing fragrance for God?"

Answer

The entrails of a sacrifice are significant in the service of the sanctuary, because the fat clinging to them plays a deep symbolic role. While the fat represents sin, which must be separated from and destroyed by the sinner, the burnt offering of the entrails on the altar symbolizes the complete dedication of life to God. The “pleasing fragrance” arises from the destruction of sin and the simultaneous renewal of the sinner through Christ.

The Significance of the Fat on the Entrails

»The sinner should, with his own hands, separate all the fat from the various organs of the animal offered as a sin offering, and give it to the priest who burned it on the burnt offering altar. At first glance this may seem like a strange ceremony, but when we recall that the fat represented sin, we recognize that it is an appropriate ceremony. ... In it he saw [David] only ash as the final end of all those who would not separate themselves from sin; for if sin was a part of themselves, then when the sin was burned, they would be burned with it.«

Why the Offering Is a Pleasing Fragrance for God

»The burning fat on the altar rose as a pleasing fragrance before God, for it represented the sin that had been separated from and destroyed by the sinner, while the sinner lived a new life through Christ. The sinner separated the fat from the sacrifice; the priest received it and burned it, illustrating the truth that we must work together with the Lord; and through Christ, who strengthens us, we can do everything.«

Complete Dedication and Daily Renewal

»The entire offering was placed on the altar and burned, which not only typified a capitulation before sin, but a consecration of the whole life to the service of God. ... The burnt offering shows us the person who goes further and brings God a gift that is so pleasing to Him that the pleasant fragrance of it satisfies Him and will satisfy Him forever.«

Inner Cleansing and the Temple of the Holy Spirit

»While the man carefully searched for the fat, he more clearly realized that his body should be a temple of the Holy Spirit... When this Spirit enters a person, it reveals, like a sharp knife, one sin after another and separates them from the sinner until the soul’s temple is cleansed.«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
