What does Ellen White write about...
Adventistische Schriften über: "What is the context of John 1:51?"
Answer
John 1:51 occurs during Jesus’ conversation with Nathanael. After Nathanael recognizes Jesus as the Son of God and King of Israel, Jesus promises him that he will see even greater things. The image of angels ascending and descending echoes Jacob’s dream of the ladder to heaven; Jesus presents himself as the one through whom the way between God and humanity is open.
Jesus as the Connection Between Heaven and Earth
»Jesus added, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.” Here Christ is in effect saying: At the Jordan the heavens were opened, and the Spirit descended upon me like a dove. This scene was only a sign that I am the Son of God. […] Christ is therefore the connecting link between humanity and God, and between God and humanity.«
Connection to Jacob’s Ladder to Heaven
»The mysterious ladder revealed to him in his dream was the same one to which Christ referred in his conversation with Nathanael. […] The ladder represents Jesus, the connection between humanity and God appointed by God.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
