Ellen Gould White
What does Ellen White write about...
Ellen Gould White über: "What is said about the character of the twelve tribes in Revelation?"
Answer
The scriptures describe the character of those who are symbolically portrayed as the restored Israel or the redeemed from the tribes as spotless and completely obedient. They are distinguished by following the Lamb unconditionally, having no falsehood in their mouths, and having their garments washed pure in the blood of the Lamb. This group is characterized as called, chosen, and faithful, with their names immortalized on the gates of the New Jerusalem.
The Character of the Redeemed Israel
»These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever it goes. They were purchased from humanity as firstfruits for God and the Lamb. In the prophet’s vision they are depicted standing on Mount Zion, equipped for holy service, clothed in white linen, which is the righteousness of the saints. But all who follow the Lamb in heaven must first have followed it on earth, not grumbling or moody, but in trusting, loving, and willing obedience, as the flock follows the shepherd... No deceit was found in their mouths; for they are spotless before the throne of God.«
The God-fearing from All Nations
»Then I saw, and behold, a great multitude that no one could count, from all nations and tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white garments and holding palms in their hands... These are those who have come out of the great tribulation and have washed their garments and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore they stand before the throne of God and serve Him day and night in His temple.«
The Faithfulness of the Spiritual Israel
»The seer of Patmos looked through the ages to the time of this restoration of Israel on the newly created earth and testified: "He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are the called, the chosen, and the faithful.«
