What does Ellen White write about...
Adventistische Schriften über: "What does the statement in Job 19:11, that God regards Job as his enemy, mean despite Job's trust in God's character?"
Answer
In times of severe testing it may appear as if God has abandoned a person or regards him as an enemy, yet the Scriptures emphasize that God never forgets or forsakes His children. Such suffering is permitted to cleanse character, strengthen faith, and draw people closer to Christ. Even when Job felt pressured by God, this experience served to reveal his steadfastness and ultimately lead him to an even deeper knowledge of God.
God does not abandon His own in trials
»God leads His children on a path they do not know, but He does not forget or forsake those who place their trust in Him. He allowed affliction to come upon Job, but He did not abandon him. ... The trials that test our faith most severely and make it seem as if God has left us are meant to draw us nearer to Christ, so that we may lay all our burdens at His feet and experience the peace He will give us in return.«
Job's steadfastness and God's affirmation
»Job was stripped of his earthly treasures, his children were taken, and he was made a spectacle of disgust for his friends, yet in God's time He showed that He had not abandoned His servant. He restored him and showed him greater favor than He had ever done at any earlier time.«
The purpose of the refining furnace
»God has always tested His people in the furnace of affliction. In the heat of the furnace, the dross is separated from the true gold of the Christian character. Jesus observes the trial; He knows what is needed to cleanse the precious metal so that it may reflect the radiance of His love. ... He shows them their own weakness and teaches them to rely on Him; for He is their only help and their protection.«
From suffering to unconditional trust
»From the depths of discouragement and despair, Job rose to the heights of unconditional trust in God's grace and saving power. Triumphantly he declared, "Even though He kills me, I will still trust in Him… He will also be my salvation." ... When Job caught a glimpse of his Creator, he despised himself and repented in dust and ash. Then the Lord was able to abundantly bless him and make his final years the best of his life.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
