»Christ warned His disciples of the destruction of Jerusalem and the signs that would occur before the coming of the Son of Man. The entire twenty‑fourth chapter of the Gospel of Matthew is a prophecy concerning the events that precede this occurrence... “You will hear of wars and rumors of war... nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.” While these prophecies found a partial fulfillment in the destruction of Jerusalem, they have a more direct application in the last days.«
