The biblical writings teach that our mortal bodies on the new earth will be transformed into imperishable, glorified forms that correspond to the image of the heavenly nature. Although the exact appearance has not yet been fully revealed, the redeemed will possess a spiritual body that resembles the glorious body of Christ—real, immortal, and free from the infirmities of sin.
It is also described that the saints will have a radiance that testifies to God's glory, such as a shining light around their heads and faces, reflecting the beauty of holiness.
The transformation into the immortal, spiritual body
»The transformation of these mortal elements of our nature into imperishable, glorified bodies is not a subject for the mind to speculate; it is a matter of faith, a clear declaration of God. ... It is enough for us to know that “we will bear the image of the Heavenly.” ... The apostle even says: “It is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in strength; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.”«
A body similar to that of the risen Christ
»However, we are assured that “our perishable bodies will be transformed into the image of Christ’s glorious body,” which was the “firstfruits” of those who sleep, and which bore precisely the wounds of the nails and spear, and whose disciples were to touch it at his command; “for a spirit has no flesh and bones, as you see that I have.”«
The visible glory of the redeemed
