Adventistische Schriften über: "What does "Refreshment" mean and what are the Times of Refreshment?"
Answer
"Refreshment" denotes a spiritual renewal and strengthening through the Word of God and the baptism with the Holy Spirit. The "Times of Refreshment" are closely linked with the late rain of the end times, which prepares the believers for the second coming of Christ and leads to sins being erased from the heavenly books. This outpouring occurs when God's people have prepared themselves for receiving this grace through repentance, conversion, and cleansing from every impurity.
Refreshment as Spiritual Renewal and Preparation
»This is life-giving water, and it is what we need. But how can we obtain it? Well, if you receive it now, if you receive these texts as the living words of the living God, spoken directly to you. Jesus said: "It is the Spirit that gives life; the flesh is of no use. The words I speak to you are spirit and are life." All this refreshment is found in the words that speak of it. ... Yesterday, several thousand people were in the hot and humid desert, without anything to eat, and Jesus fed them with bread so that they were satisfied and refreshed. He did this so that they and we might recognize the true life that is in his Word.«
Redemption of Sins and the Late Rain
»When the Times of Refreshment come from the presence of the Lord, the sins of the repentant soul, which have received the grace of Christ and have been overcome by the blood of the Lamb, will be removed from the heavenly records and placed upon the scapegoat Satan, the originator of sin, and will never again be counted against him. ... When the life struggle is finished, ... only then will it be certain to claim that we are saved and sinless.«
Preparation for the Time of Refreshment
»The late rain will come, and God's blessing will fill every soul that has been cleansed from every impurity. It is our task today to surrender our souls to Christ so that we are prepared for the Time of Refreshment from the presence of the Lord—for the baptism with the Holy Spirit. When the congregations become living, working churches, the Holy Spirit will be given as an answer to their sincere prayer. Then the windows of heaven will be opened for the showers of the late rain.«
Prophetic Fulfillment and the Completion of the Gospel
»The prophecies that were fulfilled in the outpouring of the early rain at the beginning of the gospel are to be fulfilled again in the late rain at its end. Here are the "Times of Refreshment" that the Apostle Peter foresaw when he said: "Therefore, repent and turn to God, that your sins may be blotted out, when the Times of Refreshment shall come from the face of the Lord, and He shall send the One who was previously proclaimed to you, Jesus Christ.«
The Maturation of the Earth's Harvest
»In the maturation of the Earth's harvest, shortly before the end, the farmer—our heavenly Father—waits for the "late rain," the "Refreshment," to help in the ripening of the Earth's harvest. The Lord says through His prophet: "Ask the Lord for rain at the time of the late rain; then the Lord will make bright clouds and give them showers, to every herb in the field.«
Condition for Receiving the Gift
»Today you should give yourselves to God, so that He may prepare you as vessels for honor and for His service. Today you should give yourselves to God, so that you may be emptied of yourselves ... so that your vessel is cleansed, to be ready for the heavenly dew, ready for the showers of the late rain; for the late rain will come, and God's blessing will fill every soul that has been cleansed from every impurity. It is our work today to surrender our souls to Christ, so that we may be prepared for the Time of Refreshment from the presence of the Lord ...«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
