Ellen Gould White über: "What does Ellen White write about the destruction of Satan?"

Answer

Ellen White emphasizes that the destruction of Satan was secured by Christ’s death on the cross, as there his true character was revealed to the whole universe. God did not destroy Satan immediately after his rebellion, so that all beings could understand the consequences of sin and serve out of love rather than fear. The final destruction of Satan and his followers will occur after the thousand‑year reign and the final judgment, which means the end of sin and the eternal security of the universe.

The Assurance of Destruction through the Cross

»Christ’s death on the cross secured the destruction of Him who has power over death and who was the origin of sin. When Satan is destroyed, there will be no one left to tempt to evil; the atoning sacrifice will never have to be repeated; and there will be no danger of another rebellion in God’s universe.«

Why Satan Was Not Destroyed Immediately

»Even when Satan was cast out of heaven, the infinite wisdom did not destroy him. The loyalty of God’s creatures must be based on conviction of His righteousness and love. At that time the inhabitants of heaven and the world would not have been able to recognize God’s righteousness in the destruction of Satan. Had he been erased from existence immediately, some would have served God more out of fear than love. The deceiver’s influence would not have been completely destroyed and the spirit of rebellion not fully eradicated.«

The Final Destruction after the Judgment

»The final resurrection for judgment will on the one hand complete the triumph of Christ and His church and on the other hand signify the destruction of Satan and his followers. Time will be the only certain revealer of God’s plan.«

The Chronological Sequence of the Destruction

»In the nineteenth chapter the time is described in which the beast and the false prophet are seized and cast into the lake of fire. The dragon, who was the instigator of the great rebellion against heaven, will be bound and cast into the abyss for a thousand years. Then follows the resurrection of the ungodly and the final destruction of Satan and all the ungodly, as well as the ultimate triumph and the reign of Christ on this earth.«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
