What does Ellen White write about...

Adventistische Schriften über: "What do 1 Corinthians 4:1‑2 teach about the perspective on human leaders?"

Answer

Human leaders are to be regarded as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God, whose most important characteristic is faithfulness to their Lord. It is not the task of people to judge the various servants of God, for only God is the true Judge of their work and their heart's decisions. Leaders bear a solemn responsibility as guardians of the congregation, yet they must not exalt themselves over others or claim honor for themselves, since any success is solely attributable to God's work.

Servants of Christ and Stewards of God’s Mysteries

»Let each consider us as servants of Christ and stewards of God’s mysteries. Moreover, stewards are required to be found faithful. Those who have a share in God’s work do good only because God stands behind them and does the work. Should we then praise people and thank people while failing to acknowledge God? If we do that, God will not cooperate with us.«

Judgment Belongs to God Alone

»The apostle designates the “servants of Christ” as “stewards of God’s mysteries” and explains concerning their work: “Stewards are required to be found faithful. To me it is of little consequence whether I am judged by you or by a human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself… Whoever judges me is the Lord.” … No human is given the authority to judge among the various servants of God. The Lord alone is the Judge of a person’s work.«

Responsibility and Divine Dependence

»Paul had tried to impress upon his Corinthian brothers the fact that he and the servants associated with him were merely humans commissioned by God to teach the truth, and that they were all engaged in the same work and equally dependent on God for the success of their labor. The discussion that arose in the congregation about the relative merits of various servants did not correspond to God’s order, but was the result of nurturing traits of the natural heart.«

The Duty of Faithfulness and Vigilance

»These words of the prophet proclaim the solemn responsibility that rests upon those who are appointed as guardians of the congregation, as stewards of God’s mysteries. They are to stand as watchmen on the walls of Zion, to sound the alarm when the enemy approaches. … It is the privilege of the watchmen on the walls of Zion to live so close to God and to be so receptive to the impressions of His Spirit that He can work through them.«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
