What does Ellen White write about...

Adventistische Schriften über: "What conditions must the good soil in the Bible meet to be called good soil? This explanation should be given in a brief summary based on the works of Hai (懷氏) and the Adventist (SDA) Bible commentaries."

Answer

For the soil of the human heart to be called “good soil” in the biblical sense, it must be broken up by sincere repentance and cleansed of sinful inclinations. The heart must not be closed against the truth, but must receive and understand God’s Word with genuine faith, rather than letting it be choked by worldly concerns or wealth. Ultimately, the good soil is demonstrated by practical obedience to God’s will and the production of spiritual fruit.

Preparation of the Heart’s Soil through Repentance and Overcoming

»Likewise, this must be the case for spiritual sowing. The garden of the heart must be tended. The soil must be broken up through repentance. The evil weeds that choke the good grain must be uprooted. Just as a soil once overrun with thorns can only be made arable through diligent work, so the evil inclinations of the heart can only be overcome by earnest effort in the name and power of Christ.«

A Receptive Heart and the Connection of the Word with Faith

»The soil of the heart must be softened and prepared for the sowing of the seed of the gospel. The apostle says of Israel: “The preached word was of no use to them because it was not accompanied by faith in those who heard it.” The most precious truth can be presented in the demonstration and power of the Spirit; but if it is resisted rather than valued, it will only harden the heart, and every ray of light will be extinguished in the darkness.«

Understanding the Word, Bearing Fruit, and Doing God’s Will

»So who is on the Lord’s side? “He who is sown on the good land is the one who hears the word, understands it, and then also bears fruit; one bears a hundredfold, another sixtyfold, another thirtyfold.” For the Savior said: “He who hears my words and does them I compare to a wise man who built his house on the rock [...] Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only those who do the will of my Father who is in heaven.”«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
