What does Ellen White write about...
Adventistische Schriften über: "What are the principles regarding the use of pure air in the context of health laws?"
Answer
Pure air is considered the "food" that God has provided for the lungs and is essential both for health and for the recovery of the sick. The fundamental principles include maintaining a constant circulation of air day and night, ensuring deep breathing to purify the blood, and avoiding the prejudice that nighttime air is harmful. Fresh air strengthens the immune system, calms the nerves, and is one of the most effective natural healing agents, often surpassing even physical food in importance.
Pure air as vital food and natural remedy
»Your lungs, deprived of air, will be like a hungry person deprived of food. In fact, we can live longer without food than without air, which is the food God has provided for the lungs. Therefore, do not consider it an enemy, but as a precious blessing from God... Fresh air will be far more beneficial to the sick than medicines, and it is far more essential to them than their food. They will fare better and recover sooner when they are deprived of food than when they are deprived of fresh air.«
Importance of ventilation and nighttime air
»Air must be in constant circulation to remain pure. The influence of pure, fresh air consists in making the blood circulate healthily through the system. It refreshes the body and tends to make it strong and healthy, while at the same time its influence is decidedly felt on the mind... Many are suffering diseases because they refuse to let pure nighttime air into their rooms. The free, pure air of the sky is one of the richest blessings we can enjoy.«
Relationship between breathing and blood purity
»To have good blood, we must breathe well. Full, deep inspirations of pure air, which fill the lungs with oxygen, purify the blood. They give it a bright color and send it, like a life‑giving current, to every part of the body. Good breathing calms the nerves, stimulates appetite, makes digestion more perfect, and induces a deep, restorative sleep.«
Constant ventilation in homes and bedrooms
»Rooms, especially bedrooms, should be well ventilated and the atmosphere made healthy by light and air. Shutters should be left open several hours each day... Bedrooms should be spacious and arranged so that air circulates through them day and night. Those who have excluded air from their bedrooms must begin to change that immediately. They should let air in gradually... The lungs, to be healthy, must have pure air.«
Nature's healing agencies
»Pure air, sunlight, abstinence, rest, exercise, proper diet, the use of water, and confidence in divine power: these are the true remedies. Every person should have knowledge of nature's healing agencies and how to apply them... Nature is God's physician. Pure air, the cheerful sunlight... and outdoor exercise in this setting give health; they are the elixir of life.«
Pure air versus the use of drugs
»God's remedies are the simple agencies of nature, which will not overload or weaken the system by their potent properties. Pure air and water, cleanliness, a proper diet, purity of life, and a firm confidence in God are remedies whose lack is causing thousands to die... Fresh air, exercise, pure water, and clean, pleasant surroundings are within everyone's reach at little cost; but drugs are expensive.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
