Adventistische Schriften über: "Waiting for God's Command: Noah"
Answer
Noah demonstrated extraordinary patience and obedience by remaining in the ark even after the flood waters receded, waiting for God's explicit instruction. Although he saw that the earth was already dry, he did not leave the ark until an angel opened the door and gave him the divine command to depart. His actions show that he submitted fully to God's guidance at every stage – both when entering and when leaving the ark.
Patiently Waiting for Divine Guidance
Noah and his family longed for the waters to recede, for they yearned to go back onto the earth. ... Nevertheless he waited patiently in the ark. Since he had entered on God's command, he waited for special instructions to leave it.
The Divine Opening of the Ark
Again an angel descended and opened the door of the ark. Noah could remove the roof, but he could not open the door that God had closed. God spoke through the angel who opened the door to Noah and commanded Noah's family to go out of the ark and bring out all living things with them.
Noah's Gratitude after the Deliverance
Finally an angel descended from heaven, opened the massive door and invited the patriarch and his household to go out onto the earth... In the joy of their deliverance Noah did not forget Him, by whose gracious care they had been preserved. His first action after leaving the ark was to build an altar.
Obedience as a Test of Faith
Had Noah given in to unbelief, he would not have been moved by fear (the fear of the Lord, trembling at His word) to prepare an ark to save his household. Since God's command was the test that was to try him, he would have proven through disobedience that he did not possess true love for God or saving faith in His word.
Testing Faith in the Ark
For seven days after Noah and his family had entered the ark, there was no sign of the approaching storm. During this time their faith was tested. It was a time of triumph for the world outside. The apparent delay strengthened them in the belief that Noah's message was a deception.
