Ellen Gould White über: "Vision of the Treasure Chest Ellen White"

Answer

In the vision of the treasure chest, Ellen White saw an ornate casket made of ebony and pearls, filled with precious jewels and coins that emitted a bright light. When she displayed the treasure publicly, people began to carelessly scatter the jewels and mix them with worthless, counterfeit stones. Only when a man cleansed the room of the dirt and forgeries could the genuine jewels be gathered in an even larger and more beautiful chest. These symbols represent the biblical truths of the Advent message, which, despite human confusion and errors, are ultimately preserved in their full splendor.

The Discovery of the Treasure Chest

I dreamed that God, through an invisible hand, sent me a strangely crafted casket, about ten inches long and six inches square, made of ebony and inlaid with pearls. A key was attached to the casket. I immediately took the key and opened the casket, and to my amazement and surprise I found that it was filled with all kinds and sizes of jewels, diamonds, gemstones, as well as gold and silver coins of every dimension and value, beautifully arranged in various places within the casket; and arranged thus, they reflected a light and glory that was only comparable to the sun.

The Contamination of the Treasure by the Mass

I then saw that they had scattered an innumerable amount of counterfeit jewels and forged coins among the genuine jewels and coins. I was greatly outraged by their vile behavior and ingratitude and rebuked them; yet the more I reprimanded them, the more they scattered the false jewels and counterfeit money among the genuine ones.

The Cleansing and Restoration of the Treasure

Immediately the door opened and a man entered the room, causing all the people to leave; and he, holding a dust broom in his hand, opened the windows and began to sweep the dirt and debris from the room... Then, as he swept the dirt, the debris, the false jewels, and the forged coins, everything rose and flew out of the window like a cloud, and the wind carried them away.

The New, Larger Treasure Chest

He then placed a casket on the table, much larger and more beautiful than the previous one, and gathered the jewels, diamonds, and coins handful after handful, throwing them into the casket until not a single one remained, even though some of the diamonds were no larger than a needle point.
