Ellen Gould White über: "Unions will bring a time of tribulation over this earth like never before"
Answer
Unions are described as one of the instruments that will bring an unprecedented time of tribulation over the earth. These organizations contribute to violent conflicts and difficult living conditions in the cities by binding people into dependencies that contradict God's commandments. According to the scriptures, these forces are preparing for the final great crisis, in which the wickedness of the world reaches its peak.
Unions and the Coming Time of Tribulation
And the unions will be one of the forces that will bring a time of tribulation over this earth, like never before since the world began.
Satanic forces will become ever more determined in their rebellion against God. The unions will be the cause of the most dreadful violence ever seen among mankind.
Through the workings of trusts and the outcomes of unions and strikes, living conditions in the cities become increasingly difficult.
These unions are one of the signs of the last days. People bind themselves together in bundles, ready to be burned. They may be church members, but as long as they belong to these unions, they can never keep God's commandments; for belonging to these unions means disregarding the entire Decalogue.
For years I have been given special light that we should not concentrate our work in the cities. The unrest and confusion that fill these cities, the conditions caused by unions and strikes, would prove to be a great obstacle to our work. People try to bring those who work in various trades under the bondage of certain unions. This is not God's plan, but the plan of a power we should not acknowledge in any way.
The forces of evil are gathering their strength and consolidating. They are fortifying themselves for the final great crisis. Great changes will soon take place in our world, and the final movements will be swift.
