The writings describe a coming “time of tribulation,” in which people will try to sell their possessions but will no longer be able to do so. Whoever does not timely inquire of God’s will regarding his property and act accordingly will find that houses and lands have become worthless and can no longer be used for God’s work. This situation will arise when a decree is issued that permits trade only with the mark of the beast.
