What does Ellen White write about...
Adventistische Schriften über: "The user is desperate, feels abandoned by Jesus because of repeated drinking and relapses, and says there is no reason to live any longer. He needs comfort, forgiveness, hope, references to God's love, repeated repentance, the Holy Spirit, and abstinence from alcohol from Ellen White's writings."
Answer
No one must think that their case is hopeless or that they cannot lead a Christian life, because through Christ's death abundant provision has been made for every soul. God loves you far more than humans could, and Jesus stands as the Friend of sinners before the throne of God on your behalf. Especially in the hour of greatest need and discouragement, Jesus draws especially near to give you strength for victory over destructive habits.
No One Is Hopeless
»No one needs to say that their case is hopeless, that they cannot live the life of a Christian. Through Christ's death abundant provision has been made for every soul. Jesus is our ever‑present help in times of need. Call upon Him in faith only, and He has promised to hear and answer your petitions. ... The darkness that then rests on our path must not discourage us or drive us to despair. It is the veil with which God covers His glory when He comes...«
God's Love and the Power to Repent
»You can experience a new conversion and thereby arise and triumph. ... God loves you far more than we can, for you are redeemed by the blood of Christ. ... We want you to overcome every false feeling, every false destructive habit, and present yourselves to God as a living sacrifice. ... Let sorrow fade and unbelief recede. Look at the rock that is higher than you. If you only look at your poor, imperfect, sinful self, you lose sight of the precious Redeemer.«
Help in the Hour of Greatest Need
»I want to tell the desperate: Look and live. Hope in God, for at the Cross of Corinth a perfect sacrifice was offered for you. Jesus is the Friend of the sinner, the Savior of the sinner. ... In the hour of greatest need, when discouragement overwhelms the soul, it is then that Jesus draws very near. The hour of human distress is God's opportunity. He sees our danger and has help ready for us.«
A Call to Overcome Bad Habits
»I have been made aware of your situation and these words were repeated: “And some have mercy on you and make a difference.” Your eternal interests now demand eager, decisive action. ... Do you want to seize the hope that the Lord gives you now? We feel deeply with you. We cannot let you be lost. ... Pray and watch over yourself. ... For the sake of satisfying a corrupted appetite, do not make your family unhappy ... and you will receive at the end the reward of sin, which is death. Remember the sufferings of Jesus to save yourself. Look at His sacrifice, and then, in His strength, offer your own sacrifice.«
The Invitation to Return
»“Turn to Me, and I will return to you. I will heal your apostasy and love you willingly. Tear the rubble from the door of your heart and open the door, and I will enter and eat with you, and you with Me.” The words reminded the repentant group that God still loved them, and each felt encouraged.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
