Adventistische Schriften über: "The Use of the Bible in Spiritual Warfare"
Answer
The use of the Holy Scriptures is the fundamental means to resist the temptations and deceptions of Satan in spiritual warfare. Following the example of Christ, who defeated the enemy by quoting the Bible, believers must strengthen their souls through diligent study so as not to be defeated by the wiles of evil.
The Bible acts as a protective shield and a guide that allows one to distinguish truth from error, especially in the face of spiritualist manifestations and false doctrines in the last days. Only those whose faith is firmly rooted in the Word of God will be able to stand during the coming trials.
The Example of Christ in Overcoming with the Scriptures
»Christ resisted Satan with the Scriptures. He could have resorted to His own divine power and used His own words; but He said, "It is written: Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God". [...] The example of Christ is before us. If the Holy Scriptures were studied and followed, the Christian would be strengthened to meet the cunning enemy; but the word of God is neglected, and disaster and defeat follow.«
The Necessary Preparation for the Final Conflict
»God's people must be able to confront it, as our Savior did, with the words: "It is written". Satan can quote the Scriptures now as in the days of Christ, and will pervert its teachings to sustain his delusions. Those who wish to stand in this time of danger must understand the testimony of the Scriptures for themselves. [...] We must be prepared to resist them with the biblical truth that the dead know nothing, and that those who appear thus are spirits of demons.«
The Word of God as Defense Against Deception
»All those whose faith is not firmly established in the Word of God will be deceived and overcome. Satan "works with every deceit of iniquity" to gain control over the children of men; and his deceptions will continually increase. [...] Those who fervently seek the knowledge of truth and strive to purify their souls through obedience, doing what they can to prepare for the conflict, will find in the God of truth a sure defense.«
The Spiritual Armor and the Sword of the Spirit
»Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly realms. [...] And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.«
Mental Strengthening Through Biblical Study
»A familiar knowledge of the Scriptures sharpens the powers of discernment and strengthens the soul against Satan's attacks. [...] The mind must be occupied with sacred and eternal things, or it will harbor trivial and superficial thoughts. Both intellectual and moral powers must be disciplined, and they will be strengthened and improved through exercise.«
