What does Ellen White write about...

Adventistische Schriften über: "The tree of life was in Eden, Eden is now in heaven. When everything is newly created, will the tree of life be in the New Jerusalem city or will Eden be back on earth? Please give a clear answer."

Answer

According to the available scriptures, the Garden of Eden, which was taken away from the earth before the Flood, will return to the earth in glorified form at the final restoration. The tree of life is currently in the Paradise of God in heaven, specifically in the midst of the New Jerusalem city, which houses the throne of God.

When the city of New Jerusalem comes down from heaven to the earth at the end of time, it will be positioned at the site of the original Eden (on the Mount of Olives). Thus, the tree of life will stand within the city walls on the newly created earth, while the entire earth will be called “restored Eden.”

The Restoration of the Garden of Eden

»The Garden of Eden remained on the earth for a long time after humanity was driven out of its pleasant paths... When the flood of injustice inundated the world and the wickedness of people determined their destruction by a deluge, the hand that had planted Eden withdrew it from the earth. But in the final restoration, when there will be “a new heaven and a new earth,” it is to be gloriously adorned more than at the beginning.«

The Tree of Life in the Holy City

»In the first two verses of chapter 22 we learn that the walls of this CITY enclose the “tree of life,” “which is in the midst of the Paradise of God”... Then this “Holy City, the new Jerusalem, the Zion of God...” is a city surrounded by a wall... which encloses the “Garden of Eden, the Paradise of God.”«

The Location of the New Jerusalem on Earth

»The New Jerusalem will be located exactly where the city [Jerusalem] once stood. The Mount of Olives will split in two... and on the great plain between the peaks the capital of the new earth will rest... The glory is not limited to the city; for the earth itself is the restored Eden.«

The Connection Between Paradise and the City

»Here we learn that the tree of life is in the midst of the New Jerusalem, which contains the throne of God. But the tree of life is in the midst of the Paradise of God; therefore we must conclude that the Paradise of God is in the midst of the city of God.«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
