What does Ellen White write about...
Adventistische Schriften über: "The Tree of Life bears its fruit twelve times a year, but what are the leaves for on the new earth?"
Answer
On the new earth the leaves of the Tree of Life serve the “healing of the peoples.” This healing is to be understood both symbolically and practically: it removes all traces of sin, such as spiritual and physical scars or bruises that resulted from the fall.
In addition, the leaves have healing properties that support the immortal condition and satisfy the spiritual deficiency of the peoples. The leaves also represent the reception and application of Christ’s words, which give life power and lead to unity with God.
The Healing of the Peoples through the Leaves
»I then saw how Jesus led his people to the Tree of Life, and we again heard his sweet voice, richer than any music that ever reached a mortal ear, which said: “The leaves of this tree are for the healing of the peoples. Eat all of them.” Beautiful fruit hung from the Tree of Life, from which the saints could eat freely.«
The Removal of the Traces of the Fall
»“The leaves of the tree served for the healing of the peoples” and “its leaf as medicine.” All the war and strife among the nations stem from the fact that man did not eat the fruit of the Tree of Life… The “scars and wounds” caused by eating the fruit [of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil] will be healed by the leaves of the Tree of Life.«
Spiritual Meaning of the Leaves
»The knowledge that comes from God is the bread of life. It is the leaves of the Tree of Life that serve the healing of the peoples. The stream of spiritual life permeates the soul when the words of Christ are believed and practiced. In this way we become one with Christ.«
Healing Properties and Service for the Peoples
»His leaves serve the healing of the peoples; literally: the service of the peoples. This cannot be understood as someone entering a city in a sick or deformed condition to require healing… but the notion of disease and deformity in the immortal state contradicts the explicit statements of other scriptures.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
