What does Ellen White write about...
Adventistische Schriften über: "The sanatorium, the miracle, and the medical ministry do not perform their work through miracles; the Lord has shown the work of the medical mission service in the sanatorium."
Answer
The work in sanatoriums is not primarily carried out today by publicly performed miracles, because in a time of false miracles by the enemy this could lead to deception. Instead, God has shown a way in which physical healing through the medical mission service is closely linked with the teaching of the Word. The true miracle is revealed in the Christian life of the staff and in the cooperation of the medical personnel with the “Great Physician,” who heals both body and soul.
Medical Mission Service instead of public miracles
»The way Christ worked was to preach the Word and alleviate suffering through wonderful works of healing. But I am instructed that we cannot now work in that way; for Satan will exercise his power by performing miracles. God's servants today could not work by means of miracles, because false works of healing that claim to be divine are being performed. For this reason the Lord has outlined a way in which His people should advance a work of physical healing in connection with the teaching of the Word. Sanatoriums are to be established, and with these institutions staff should be associated who provide genuine medical mission service.«
Christ's work in the lives of the staff
»In them [the sanatoriums] the sick and suffering should see the wondrous power of Christ as it is revealed in the lives of the staff. “Let your light so shine before men,” says Christ, “that they may see your good works and praise your Father in heaven.” ... Everything associated with the sanatorium and its surroundings should be kept orderly and clean, so that the work stands in high regard among people and constantly exerts an uplifting influence.«
Collaboration with the Great Physician
»Christ is no longer personally in this world to go through our cities, towns, and villages and heal the sick; but He has commissioned us to continue the medical mission work that He began. In this work we should give our best. Facilities for the care of the sick should be established where men and women who suffer from diseases can be placed under the care of god-fearing physicians and nurses and can be treated without medication.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
