Adventistische Schriften über: "The role of the Jewish people in end-time prophecy"

Answer

The Adventist perspective emphasizes that God has rejected the Jewish people as a nation, but individual Jews can still come to faith in Jesus Christ. The prophetic promises to Israel are applied spiritually to the Christian congregation – the so-called “spiritual Israel” of believers of both sexes and all nations.

A national restoration of the Jews in Palestine before Christ’s second coming is rejected. The “restoration of Israel” rather refers to the final gathering of all the elect in the new Jerusalem and on the new earth at the return of Jesus.

Transfer of the promises to the spiritual Israel

»What God intended to do for the world through Israel, the chosen nation, He will finally accomplish today through His congregation on earth. These witnesses of God are counted among the spiritual Israel, and through them all covenant promises that Jehovah gave to His ancient people will be fulfilled.«

God has abandoned the Jews as a nation

»I saw that God has abandoned the Jews as a nation; but that individuals among them will still be converted and enabled to tear the veil from their hearts and see that the prophecy concerning them has been fulfilled; they will accept Jesus as the Savior of the world.«

Spiritual, not literal Israel will be saved

»Therefore it must be the spiritual, not the literal Israel that will be “saved all,” when the fullness of the Gentiles has entered.«

The restoration of Israel as a spiritual fulfillment

»The restoration of Israel to its own promised land… is the final gathering and restoration of all the “elect” or the true Israel of God (those who are such through faith in Christ) to their own eternal inheritance in the promised “new earth” or the “heavenly Jerusalem,” and not the return of fleshly Jews to Palestine.«

Warning against earthly interpretation of the kingdom prophecies

»Since Jesus applied some of these [prophecies] – with obviously spiritual meaning – to the kingdom of grace established at His first coming, great caution is required in applying these kingdom prophecies of Isaiah and others to a temporal, earthly state with an earthly Jerusalem.«

True Israel are the believers in Christ

»The “House of Israel” and the “seed of Abraham” are therefore all children of God through faith in Jesus Christ. At Christ’s second coming all who are His will be raised from the dead; “for if you are of Christ, you are indeed Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise.”«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
