Adventistische Schriften über: "The relationship between the late rain and the great tribulation"
Answer
The late rain serves as essential preparation for the people of God to be able to endure the coming great tribulation. This outpouring of the Holy Spirit gives power to the final warning message and equips believers for the time when the seven last plagues are poured out and no mediator is active in the heavenly sanctuary.
Without the spiritual strengthening caused by the late rain and the prior cleansing of character, it would be impossible for an individual to stand before God in the gloomy time without an intercessor. Receiving this “refreshment” is therefore inseparably linked with the testing of faith and the final seal of God, before the general period of grace ends.
Preparation for the plagues and the tribulation
»At that time the “late rain” or the refreshing from the face of the Lord will come, to give power to the loud voice of the third angel and to prepare the saints to endure the time when the seven last plagues are poured out.«
Completion of preparation before the end of the period of grace
»When the message of the third angel ends, grace no longer intercedes for the guilty inhabitants of the earth. The people of God have completed their work. They have received the “late rain,” the “refreshing from the face of the Lord,” and are prepared for the heavy hour that lies before them. ... Every case is decided over life or death. Christ has accomplished the atonement for His people and has removed their sins.«
The necessity of spiritual gifts in the last dangers
»If the apostolic church needed the gifts to enable it to endure its particular trials, how much more will they be needed in the dangers of the last days to prepare the church to remain steadfast in the time of tribulation, “LIKE NEVER BEFORE.”«
Warning against neglected preparation
»I saw that many neglected the necessary preparation and waited for the time of “refreshment” and the “late rain” to make them fit to stand on the day of the Lord and to live before His face. Oh, how many I saw in the time of tribulation without refuge! They had neglected the necessary preparation; therefore they could not receive the refreshment that all must have in order to enable them to live before the face of a holy God.«
