Adventistische Schriften über: "The practical implementation of unity within the congregation"
Answer
Cohesion and Focused Action
»The work of the Spirit and true godliness will stand in perfect harmony with the order already established by the Lord for guiding His people... Press together, press together! In unity lies strength and victory; in discord and division lie weakness and defeat... Followers of Jesus Christ will not act independently of one another. Our strength must be in God, and it must be preserved to be expressed in noble, focused action. It must not be wasted in meaningless movements.«
The Source of Unity is the Connection with Christ
»The cause of divisions or discord in the congregation is separation from Christ. The secret of unity is union with Christ. Christ is the great center. We will draw to one another exactly to the extent that we draw to the center. United with Christ, we will surely also be united with our brothers in faith... Being a Christian means much more than one assumes. A Christian is Christ‑like. Membership in the congregation does not make us Christians.«
Unity through Subordination and Order
»Relying on one's own judgment leads to neglect of vigilance and humble, penitential prayer... Christ wants His followers to be gathered in a congregation, to keep order, have rules and discipline, and for all to be subordinate to one another by holding others higher than themselves... An imprudent step, an unconsidered action can plunge the congregation into difficulties and trials from which it may not recover for years.«
Harmony through Organized Workmanship
»We must understand how the work is divided and how each part of the work is to be advanced. Everyone should understand the part they are to fulfill so that harmony exists in the plan and in the work of the collective effort. Properly led, the warehouse meeting is a school where pastors, elders, and deacons can learn to perform a more perfect work for the Master.«
Practical Resolution of Conflicts
»No matter what kind of transgression it is, this does not change the plan God has made for the settlement of misunderstandings and personal injuries. Speaking alone and in the spirit of Christ with the one who is in the wrong will often remove the difficulty. Go to the erring person with a heart full of Christ's love and compassion and try to resolve the matter. Argue calmly and quietly with them.«
Danger of Individual Independence
»Unbelief suggests that individual independence elevates our significance, that it is weak to bend our own ideas of what is right and proper to the judgment of the congregation; but yielding to such feelings and views is unsafe and will plunge us into anarchy and confusion... Let individual judgment be subordinated to the authority of the congregation.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
