Adventistische Schriften über: "Summary and main teachings of Chapter 38 of The Great Controversy"

Answer

Chapter 38 of the book The Great Controversy deals with the final warning message to the world, in which the proclamation of Babylon’s fall by the angel from Revelation 18 is repeated with great force. As the biblical truth is increasingly rejected, the religious world falls morally, disregards God’s commandments, and eventually turns to the persecution of believers. Moreover, the influence of spiritism and demonic temptations open the way for churches to deep corruption under the guise of piety.

The Repetition of the Message and the Spiritual Condition of the Religious World

»“I saw another angel descending from heaven, who had great power, and the earth was illuminated by his brightness. And he cried out with great voice and said: ‘She has fallen, she has fallen, Babylon the great, has become a dwelling for demons and a receptacle of all unclean spirits and a receptacle of all unclean and detested birds.’ ‘And I heard another voice from heaven saying: ‘Depart from her, my people, that you may not share in her sins, lest you receive her plagues!’ This passage points to a time when the announcement of Babylon’s fall, as made by the second angel [...] is to be repeated, with additional mention of the corruption that has entered the various organizations that constitute Babylon since the first proclamation of that message in the summer of 1844. A dreadful condition of the religious world is described here. With each rejection of truth, the minds of people grow darker, their hearts harder, until they hide in unbelieving daring. Despite all of God’s warnings, they continue to trample one of the Decalogue’s commandments, until they finally persecute those who keep it holy. [...] As the teachings of spiritism are adopted by the churches, the barrier imposed on the fleshly heart falls away, and religious profession becomes a cover to hide the most shameful injustice. Belief in spiritistic manifestations opens the door to tempting spirits and teachings of demons, and thus the influence of evil angels will become perceptible in the churches.«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
