Adventistische Schriften über: "Stockpiling"

Answer

Based on the writings of Ellen G. White, stockpiling material supplies for the coming “time of tribulation” is not in accordance with God’s will. The Lord has shown that such supplies would be taken from believers by force, and they must instead learn to fully trust God’s promise that “bread and water will be certain.” Rather, now is the time to gather spiritual supplies from the Word of God and to use material resources to promote God’s work, rather than withholding them out of fear of future scarcity.

Against Stockpiling Supplies for the Tribulation

»The Lord has repeatedly shown me that it contradicts the Bible to make provisions for our temporal needs during the time of tribulation. I saw that if the saints, in the time of tribulation, when sword, famine, and pestilence are in the land, had stored food with them or in the fields, these would be taken from them by violent hands and strangers would reap their fields. Then the time will be for us to look trustingly to God, and He will preserve us. I saw that our bread and water would be certain at that time.«

Gather Spiritual Rather Than Material Treasures

»They should now stockpile for the present and the future supplies that will sustain the soul in times of need. They should store the precious gold and silver and the valuable jewels of the Word of God, jewels that will never perish.«

God’s Care in Hunger

»The God who provided for Elijah in the time of famine will not pass by any of His willing children. He, who has counted the hairs on their heads, will care for them, and in the days of famine they will be satisfied. While the ungodly around them perish from lack of bread, their bread and water will be certain.«

The Danger of Distrusting God

»Many fail to gather a treasure in heaven by using the means God has lent them to do good. They distrust God and have a thousand fears concerning the future... They fear they might fall into need or that their children could become needy... They do not dare to trust God. Many are so constantly preoccupied with themselves that they give God no opportunity to provide for them.«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
