Adventistische Schriften über: "Source Intercession Responsibility Death Ellen White"

Answer

Ellen White describes in her writings a serious responsibility for those who accompany the dying: It is their duty to inform the affected person in a timely manner about their critical condition so that they can reconcile with God. If this is neglected, others may bear co‑responsibility (sin) if the person does not die as a “triumphing overcomer.”

At the same time it is emphasized that Christ is the true intercessor, who enters the heavenly sanctuary on behalf of humanity and takes on its guilt. While people should pray for the healing of the sick, the decision over life and death ultimately rests with the will of God, to which all mortals must humbly submit.

The Responsibility Toward the Dying

»I saw the one who was dying, that she died without complete readiness. Life was presented to her, and she had no triumphant victory. [...] Others will have to bear the sin that she was not a triumphant overcomer. She was not responsible for that. Whenever an impatient word was spoken or whenever impatience or irritability manifested, it was the duty of those she was with to inform her of her critical condition and the danger [...] . It was their duty to show her that she must be reconciled with the will of God and prepare for her final transition.«

Christ as Personal Intercessor

»The Lord Jesus is your personal intercessor. ... Repeat many times throughout the day: “Jesus died for me. He saw me in danger, exposed to ruin, and shed his life to save me. He does not see the soul as a trembling supplicant lying at his feet without compassion, and he will not fail to lift me up.” He has become the intercessor for humanity. ... It is solely the merit and righteousness of Christ that makes a difference.«

Prayer for the Sick and Surrender to God’s Will

»When we pray for the sick, we should pray that they may be healed if it is God’s will; if not, that He may grant them His grace for comfort and His presence for strength in their suffering. Many who should be caring for their household fail to do so when they hope that they will be healed as an answer to prayer. Carried by a false hope, they do not feel the need to give admonitions and counsel to their children, parents, or friends, and that is a great misfortune.«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
