What does Ellen White write about...

Adventistische Schriften über: "Since my youth, I have experienced a conflict between the spirit of the world and the Christian spirit. This has led to rejection and loneliness. Now I am tired of the conflict and simply want to be left in peace so I can continue pursuing my heavenly hopes."

Answer

The texts provided describe the conflict between the spirit of the world and the Spirit of Christ, as well as the rejection and opposition that can result. At the same time, they link separation from worldly influences with the peace Christ gives and with continued concern for others. However, they do not explicitly answer whether you should withdraw or be left alone by others.

Conflict and Rejection

»“If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.” […] The Christian “is opposed at every step, and meets the rebuffs of the ungodly at every turn.” He may cheerfully endure the world’s ridicule and reproach, for Christ’s sake alone.«

Peace in Christ and Concern for Others

»A Christian, as described in the Scriptures, is one who is separate from the world in his aims and conduct and united with Christ—one who possesses the peace that Christ alone can give. Christians will not let the world perish unwarned, nor will they make no effort to reclaim the lost.«

The Pain of Separation

»True conversion is […] a parting from worldly associations and a withdrawing from their spiritual atmosphere. Separation brings pain and bitterness to both parties. This is the strife Christ declared that He would bring.«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
